***PLEASE SEND YOUR CHILD'S TIN WHISTLE TO CLASS WITH THEM THE NEXT SIX WEEKS!***

I hope you were able to enjoy your time with your kiddos this week.  We enjoyed our time at Outdoor School.  It was definitely a time that Jeremy and I needed.  We love having time to take a drive somewhere because during those times we are able to communicate what God is doing in our lives and how to properly praise Him or press in.  If any of you or your family needs prayer, please let me know.  I would love to stand in the gap and lift your family up!  I know on Community Days it can be a challenge to have time to chat or open up, but lets make it happen.  If not on Thursdays, we can make it happen any other day.  Lifting your families up in prayer.

M   E   E   T       Y   O   U   R       T   U   T   O   R:

Mrs. Fick

Hi, my name is Donna Fick and I am excited to be the Abecedarian B tutor this year at BGCC.  We are going to have a great year learning Cycle 2 together.

To share a little about my family, I have been married for 12 years to my husband, Jeremy. He is a civil engineer and works in Vancouver. We have 3 boys: Bryland,  (8) Jackson (7) and Graydon (5). We are beginning our 5th year of homeschooling, and our third year at BGCC.  We love Jesus with all of our hearts and are blessed to be part of this homeschooling/ CC experience with each of you.

Our first day together will be September 8th.  Here are a few important details for the upcoming year. We have two great parent helpers this year. They will be present each week to assist in the classroom and I am very grateful for their efforts and the experience they will bring to our class!

Our class will be made up of:

•   Tegan Jones
•   Elliette Stahley
•   Thad Deiter
•   Morgan Sorensen
•   Graydon Fick
•   Clara Siedenburg
•   Sander Spikkeland
•   Owen Davis

SCHEDULE:

          9:00 -    9:20             Assembly
          9:20 -    9:50             New Grammar
          9:50 -  10:20             Snack/ Presentations
         10:20 - 10:50             Science
         10:50 - 11:20             Art
         11:20 - 11:50             Review
         11:50 - 12:00             Clean-up
         12:00 - 12:20             Lunch

SUPPLIES: It would be a great help if parents can contribute to the class supply list by bringing any of the following: Dry erase markers, Vis-à-vis, white board spray cleaner, Magic eraser pads, diaper wipes or hand sanitizer.

SNACKS: We will have snacks each morning. Please send your child with a simple snack and a water bottle, clearly marked with their name.

PRESENTATIONS: Presentations are an important part of the Classical Communications program. They are a great opportunity to gain confidence and build important skills. Each child will be strongly encouraged to participate in our weekly presentations, which are scheduled to begin in our class at 9:50 am this year. The suggested 2016-2017 Presentation schedule can be found on the home page. The same schedule will be used by all tutors on the BGCC campus.

There is no need to prepare for the first week's presentation, as it will be an impromptu interview by your children's tutors. For the following weeks, early preparation for weekly presentations is encouraged to help your child feel confident and comfortable when it is his/her time to present. They can practice their presentation at home to siblings, parents, grandparents, pets, or even stuffed animals. If the week's presentation is 'Show and Tell', please be sure that the item they are bringing is small enough to fit in their backpack in order to keep disruptions during class at a minimum.

EMAILS/UPDATES: All parent/teacher correspondence for the class will be posted here, on the blog. I will update the ABECEDARIAN B tab in the top menu of the home page with a recap of the previous community day after class each week.

If you have any issues or information you'd like me to take into consideration as I prepare for the upcoming year, (allergies, learning issues, personality traits, etc) please let me know. I can be reached via email at donna.fick@gmail.com, or by phone/text @ 360.607.6576.

Thank you for allowing me this time with your child. I pray that we have an amazing year together!  See you soon!
