I hope you're all having a cozy homeschool week, this change in weather makes me want to take a nap!
Here are a few announcements for this week:
Week seven begins our Fine Arts tin whistle quarter. Please don't forget to pack your student's tin whistle for class.
Also if your student would like to come dressed up in a non-scary costume this week they are welcome to do so.
I've noticed some very thirsty kids after our recess time. Please pack a water bottle for your student or direct your child to the drinking fountain to conserve paper cups. Thank you!

Community News - Week 6
Good Evening!
I'm excited to see you this Thursday! These built in breaks are such a great time to regroup or find a fun family adventure. Our family was able to attend the Twin Rocks Outdoor School last week. What fun it was to see our kids find new interests or be surprised by wonder. Jed along with 5 other CC dads (and their families) attended camp as well, leaving us absolutely rolling as they became the CC Aquanauts. You may have seen them on FB but if not, there is a chance they have an encore routine in our future.
Our time away hasn't been all sunshine and lollipops, a pipe in our well burst, our fridge broke, it's hard to see beyond the piles of laundry, we're potty training a resistant toddler and I'm sick. Yep, REAL happens here too! I'm not complaining! I'm thankful the well burst before camp and that Jed was able to fix it for under $5 and our friends pulled in and helped us load up and get on the road. It looks like the fridge will be repaired this week. The laundry.... will get done, the baby will learn, and I'll likely be feeling good Thursday morning when I see all of you!
When I woke this morning and poured my cup of coffee, the first thing I read was Janell's blog post.
I asked her to share it on our community blog as well. We are doing a "Holy Hard Work" and as we walk this road the Lord has called us to, let us be an encouragement to one another. If it's not broken pipes or a sick momma its a nursing baby or a tween! Draw in to Jesus, sink those roots down deep ladies. May you find our community at BGCC a place of love and fellowship helping you though those bumpy days of motherhood and homeschooling.
Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

Welcome to Battle Ground Classical Conversations
Good Morning CC Families,
Summer is rapidly drawing to a close. Stepping outside you can feel the nip in the air this morning. Our family has spent the last few weeks shifting gears from endless summer to preparing for the upcoming school year. I'm going to miss all the fun and exciting adventures that summer held for us but I can't wait for autumn leaves, apple cider, read-aloud stories and soup simmering on the stove. Having our children learning at home together as a family is such a blessing. What joy we have to walk alongside them as they explore the wonders of science through the observation of nature, ancient history, math, Latin and preparing for weekly presentations. Fun times coming this fall!
We have a new BLOG!
The Director and all tutors will be using this site to communicate weekly class recaps and highlights as well as any important reminders and updates. In order for you to stay up to date on these topics, it is important that you take a minute to go to the blog and subscribe to updates by entering your email address in the "Subscribe for Email Updates" box in the far right column.
The blog address is: www.BGCCFoundations. blogspot.com
The site is still under construction. Please excuse the "mess."
Each class at BGCC has a tab at the top of the home page. You will be able to find each of your children's class recaps here. Your child's tutor will post to their blog tab by Saturday evening, so all class information will be current and available to view by Sunday AM. To keep email notifications to a minimum, you will not receive an email every time a tutor updates their class page. For this reason, it will be each parents responsibility to check the class tabs for updates each week after Saturday evening.
We have been looking for an easy way to stay connected and get information to everyone with the least amount of emails and hassle. We will be trying this approach for the 2015-2016 CC year. Please send any questions/concerns regarding the blog to: Amanda@ balancedlivingvancouver.com or angiebgcc@gmail.com.
Pizza Day:
Let's start the year off with PIZZA DAY! That's right; no need to pack a lunch the first week of CC unless you want to. Pizza will be available to you for $1 per slice with a GF option at $1.50 a slice.
A sign-up sheet will be located near the coffee station Thursday morning along with a zipper bag to collect pizza money.
New Babies:
A few mamas have been extra busy over the summer. We have three new babies: Janell Sorensen had a baby girl, Jodie Rodriguez a baby boy and Tami Smith had her baby boy on Orientation Night (she was obviously excused from our mandatory community meeting :))
Let's bless these ladies with a few freezer meals to take home with them on Thursday. To sign up to bring a meal, email me at angiebgcc@gmail.com. Just a reminder, freezer meals can be homemade or ready-made from the grocery store.
Family Contributions:
Each family will be assigned a family contribution. These jobs will rotate after our first 12 weeks of the school year. Each task should only take your family about 5-10 minutes. Many hands make light work! I'll bring the job assignments whiteboard to Open Assembly on Thursday. We'll also ask each family to serve on Pre-Assembly duty one time this school year. When you are on pre-assembly duty we ask that you arrive by 8:45am and supervise the students as they get seated on their tapes in the Worship Center. Thank you in advance for jumping in and serving our community in this way!
Parents Night Out:
When: Tuesday September 22 at 6:30pm
Where: Mill Creek Pub
1710 SW 9th Ave
Battle Ground, WA 98604
Mill Creek has a private room that's been reserved for our CC community. Join us for dinner or just dessert.
In closing, I'm so excited to live in community with each of you this year. It's an honor to serve your family as the Battle Ground Classical Conversations Director. Please join me and praying for God's leading in our families and in our little community this year.
In Him,
Angie Forrester
